AI conversations & writing
Emails and messages
Speak a finished message, or ask Claude or ChatGPT to draft one.
Choose the right starting point
If you know the wording, dictate directly into an unsent mail or message field. If you only know what you need to communicate, dictate a brief into Claude or ChatGPT first. The assistant can propose wording, which you then review and copy into your mail app.
Dictate a finished message
- Create a draft and click the body field. Enter recipients and the subject deliberately in their own fields.
- Press Fn, say the message, and press Fn again. For practice, keep recordings under 30 seconds; continue in another recording if needed.
- Review the text. Confirm names, dates, numbers, tone, and attachments before sending it yourself.
A direct message example
Hi Maya, thanks for the revised proposal. I have one question about the delivery schedule. Could you confirm whether the second milestone includes testing? I will review the remaining items tomorrow.
Expect these words to appear as draft text. If Smart polish is off, instructions mixed into the recording may become part of the message. Do not say “write an email to Maya” unless you are entering a prompt into an AI assistant.
Ask an assistant to draft instead
Draft a friendly email asking a supplier to confirm the delivery date. The order number is SAMPLE-42. We need an update, but have not agreed a new deadline. Keep it under 100 words and leave the recipient name as a placeholder.
Check the AI's response against your facts before copying it. Dictation does not read the email thread or attachments automatically and never sends the finished email for you.
