Plan in Chinese, email in English

Dictate your brief in Chinese and ask Claude or ChatGPT for an English draft.

Use Chinese to explain the task

You can think aloud in Chinese without composing polished English first. Dictate the brief into Claude or ChatGPT and explicitly request an English email. Translation and drafting in this workflow are performed by that assistant, not automatically by ordinary dictation.

Step by step

  1. Open an AI conversation and click its message field.
  2. Press Fn and describe the recipient, relationship, purpose, known facts, and desired tone in Chinese.
  3. Request English output and set a useful length. Stop recording, check the Chinese transcription, and submit.
  4. Review the English answer. Ask the assistant to explain any uncertain phrase in Chinese. Copy the approved version into your email app and check the recipient and subject before sending.

A bilingual-task example

请写一封英文邮件给合作方,感谢对方昨天介绍产品。我们还需要确认是否支持按月付款。语气礼貌自然,正文不超过一百个英文单词,不要暗示我们已经决定购买。

Expected result: an English draft asking about monthly billing without committing to a purchase. The assistant may choose different wording; verify the business meaning, not just the grammar.

Protect the meaning

Check dates, currencies, names, time zones, and the strength of promises. “We will buy” is different from “we are evaluating.” If your Chinese brief was misrecognized, correct it before asking the AI to draft. Keep each recording under 30 seconds and split longer briefs.

Chinese and English currently work best for speech recognition. Other language support is rolling out; this guide does not promise equivalent recognition quality in every language.
